Randomized MAC Curves
Randomized MAC Curves
When creating a game you can choose Randomized MAC curves instead of real India CCTS data.
Each firm is assigned 8 abatement steps drawn from the same technology archetypes (energy efficiency, process optimization, material substitution, waste heat recovery, fuel switching, electrification, CCS, carbon offset), but with costs sampled randomly from sector-appropriate ranges. A cement firm's CCS step costs less than a petroleum refinery's; a chlor-alkali firm's electrification step can even be negative-cost (ODC technology).
Steps are sorted cheapest-first and abatement potentials are sized so firms can typically abate 50–80 % of their baseline — not 100 % — creating genuine demand to trade. Use this mode when you want richer trading dynamics without the risk that students memorise India-specific numbers.
